Pianist, composer, marionette artist, and performer
Harry Mayronne was Musical Director/Arranger at the National WWII Museum's Stage Door Canteen, for Billie and Ella, as well as Anaïs St. John's Josephine Baker show. In 2023 Harry and Anaïs traveled to, Italy, where they performed with the Trinity Episcopal School Honor Choir. For their ongoing livestreamed 2020-21 Porch Fests, Anaïs and Harry received a Proclamation from the New Orleans City Council. For the past fourteen years, Harry has accompanied Caroling in Jackson Square (presented by Patio Planters of the Vieux Carre).
In 2008 Harry spent the Summer in Berlin with the Pfister Sisters for an engagement at the popular club Bar Jeder Vernunft. He has accompanied film legend Mink Stole (along with virtuoso musician Dr. Sick) in her New Orleans cabaret shows. As a marionette performer he operated the skeleton marionette seen on video in the Final Tour of Dead and Company's July 3 Boulder, CO concert. (Skeleton appears at 1:52). He has appeared at the Provincetown and New Orleans Tennessee Williams Festivals, the New Orleans Giant Puppet Festival, and with Nina Hagen at Berliner Ensemble. His own marionettes can be seen at Creason’s Fine Art in the French Quarter. Harry is co-producer, along with founder David C. Symons, of the annual New Orleans Brechtfest.
His restaurant music comedyWaiting Around--the Restaurant Musical, for which he composed the score, with book and lyrics by Ricky Graham, ran for three years in New Orleans at le chat noir. Harry was co-producer of an off-Broadway production, which played at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.The show also had two special performances at the Greenbrier.
