WAITING AROUND (THE RESTAURANT MUSICAL) RETURNS

Certain individual names above the title of the show will guarantee sold-out houses and successful, even extended runs. Only a select few shows, however, have attained such legendary success that led to years-long runs or perennial revivals. “One Mo’ Time”. “Nobody Likes a Smartass.” “… And the Ball and All.” To that list we can add “Waiting Around: The Restaurant Musical”,

Writer Ricky Graham and composer Harry Mayronne’s Waiting Around (the Restaurant Musical) celebrates the food business, all from the point of view of the waitstaff who proudly serve you! Waiting Around had a spectacular three-year run at Le Chat Noir in New Orleans. This engagement was followed by a limited run off-Broadway in 2006. A new production was mounted in 2011. In 2026 the show returns in a new updated presentation.

Beginning February 20 (through March 2), Waiting Around plays at the Lagniappe at Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts, located at 325 Minor St in Kenner. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:00pm, and Mondays at 7:30 (with a discount for Service Industry workers).

Waiting Around reunites the revival cast: Tracey E. Collins, Jason Kirkpatrick, Darcy Malone, and original cast member Chris Wecklein, with composer Harry Mayronne at the piano. Direction and Choreography by Amanda Zirkenbach. Musical Direction by Harry Mayronne. Lighting by Su Gonczy, with additional Lighting by Camille Griffin. Costumes by Cecile Casey Covert. Set by James Jennings.
